Gary Reid, founder of ProReg (previously called GEMS Registration Services
Ltd) started as a sole proprietor in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1994 to meet the
needs of the tradeshow industry. As GEMS, its first event was the Atlantic Provinces
Food Service and Hospitality Industry Exposition (ApEx), which, with 7000 visitors
and exhibitors over three days, was and still is the largest tradeshow in Eastern
Canada. Seeing there was a need for better information gathering and subsequent
management, Gary created a registration solution which managed the pre-registration,
registration, badging, visitor tracking and lead retrieval for the entire event.
After servicing further tradeshow events, Gary was approached to provide delegate
registration for international conventions and meetings.
From 1994 to 2000 Gary provided registration solutions for a myriad of companies, organizations, and associations. In the spring of 2000, Gary incorporated and moved the business to Nanaimo, British Columbia. From inception, ProReg has delivered on-line solutions that continue to change as the Internet evolves. ProReg's primary focus is to facilitate an efficient, cost-effective registration process and to provide administrative support for national and international associations and event planners.
The
Sales, Support and the Research and Design offices are located in Nanaimo, BC.
